Centigon uses the latest 3D OEM technology (CATIA) to study the integration of the armouring inside the base vehicle. The car is completely dismantled, after which we integrate the ballistic steel panels. All OEM glass parts are replaced with ballistic glass: the windscreen, the lateral glass, the rear compartment glass and the rear door glass. The 5 wheels and rims are changed to cope with the new weight.
The armour is fitted by bolts, glazing is glued with urethane. Pillars are reinforced from roof to rocker panels and doors flanges are reinforced to carry the armour weight. Thanks to our materials and designs, we avoid the effect of secondary projectile that may be caused by an explosion close to or under the vehicle. The sensitive parts of the engine are protected as well (batteries, ECU, side wings ...).
Finally, selected welded parts (firewall) are covered with polyurethane (LINE-X) to provide extra blast protection. The purpose of the armour package is to efficiently protect all passengers against ballistic and blast threats.

Approches

Centigon follows two armouring approaches: Cube in and cube-on designs. The purpose of the armour package is to efficiently protect all passengers against ballistic and blast threats; to achieve this, Centigon follows two armouring approaches: Cube in and cube-on designs.

Cube-on

Cube-on armour cabin package, meaning that a complete new cabin is designed, built and fixed onto the OEM chassis. Special attention is being given to the design of the armour cabin package which depending on customer/operator requirement can be as close as possible to the original cabin in order to keep the external visual aspect; alternatively an aggressive design and shapes can be proposed in order to impress the enemy.

Cube-in

Cube-in means that armour steel plates are fitted into the OEM cabin from the inside. In order to offer the best armoured vehicles, Centigon Security Group has incorporated state-of-art laset cutting and bending machine. Those investments are mandatory to ensure the balistic integrity of the components of our vehicles.

We need to have to ability to cut, bend and modulate any piece of steel, without compromising its proprieties, that we will fit in our armoured cells.

This equipment is the only one that will ensure the quality of the different components of our vehicles, in accordance with leading industry standards. Each modified piece of steel is tested in our in-house balistic laboratory before their integration in the armour of our vehicles.
