The new French Presidential vehicle unveiled on ‘Bastille Day’ was armoured and fitted out by Centigon France
The DS N°7 Élysée, the new official vehicle of the French Presidency unveiled this Tuesday, July 14, 2026 FOR BASTILLE DAY by DS Automobiles, was transformed, armoUred, and fitted out at Centigon France's workshops in Lamballe-Armor.
There are projects that sum up an entire industrial destiny. The new french Presidential vehicle is one of them.
Entrusted to Centigon France by the highest authorities of the State and by DS Automobiles, this DS N°7 Élysée embodies nearly 80 years of Breton excellence in the service of national security. In the workshops of Lamballe-Armor, discreet, rigorous and passionate teams worked for several months to integrate strictly selected materials and equipment into a vehicle designed to protect the French Head of State. Every armored steel, every composite, every onboard solution meets a specification of absolute rigor.
The DS N°7 Élysée marks a symbolic continuity: it is the second official vehicle of the French Presidency to be fully electric, following an electric DS N°8 Présidentielle and a hybrid Renault Rafale Présidentiel. Based on the production AWD Long Range version of the DS N°7, the vehicle features two electric motors, one per axle, delivering a combined 350 horsepower to all four wheels. This architecture required Centigon France to carry out precise adaptation of the running gear and careful integration work between the armored structure and the electric powertrain.
The vehicle is equipped with a 97.2 kWh battery giving it, in its civilian version, an announced range of up to 740 km, with fast charging allowing up to 200 km of range to be recovered in 10 minutes. Lengthened by 25 cm for rear cabin space and considerably heavier due to the full armoring carried out by Centigon France, the presidential version naturally sees these performance figures adjusted in favor of protection, without departing from the project’s underlying philosophy: to demonstrate that a very high-protection state vehicle can also be a vehicle of the future.

The French Presidential fit-out also includes an oleopneumatic suspension specifically designed for this vehicle, rear windows with variable-intensity electrochromic tinting, an illuminated grille in blue, white and red tones, as well as signalling equipment and removable flag holders specific to state vehicles. Integrating these elements into a vehicle made heavier and reinforced by armoring called upon the full engineering expertise of Centigon France.
This project would not have been possible without the mobilization of a group of leading French industrial partners, each an expert in their field — armored steels, protective composites, suspensions, upholstery, electronics and security equipment. Together, these companies crafted far more than a vehicle: they forged a symbol of French industrial sovereignty.
