The GIGN unveils its new armored intervention vehicles by Centigon<\/h2>

Satory, May 18, 2017 \u2013<\/em> Centigon France, a subsidiary of the Centigon Security group, one of the leading global players in the market for civilian and military armored vehicles, today announced the handover of keys to the national gendarmerie for a series of Fortress Intervention armored vehicles at a ceremony held at the Pasquier barracks in Satory in the presence of several official personalities, including Colonel Laurent Ph\u00e9lip, commander of the GIGN.<\/p>

The Centigon Fortress Intervention is a 4×4 armored vehicle designed for special forces and intervention units specializing in counter-terrorism and law enforcement operations in Europe and abroad. The vehicle is sized to accommodate a 6-man intervention team, including 4 in the rear zone. Despite retaining an identical exterior appearance, the Fortress Intervention offers military-grade armor and can withstand various assault rifle ammunition (such as the Kalashnikov AK-47) and explosions (grenades, lateral explosions, etc.). It is also equipped with a range of security systems, including a large response hatch on the roof, run-flat tires allowing it to drive with a flat tire, and multi-layered and polycarbonate bulletproof windows.<\/p>

Designed on a standard Toyota Land Cruiser chassis rigorously selected for its performance, robustness, reliability, and global support network, the vehicle has either a gasoline engine (5.7L, 4.6L) or a diesel engine (4.5L).<\/p>
